VOLANTE - Visions Of LANd use Transitions in Europe

The VOLANTE project has run from November 2010 and has focused on the development of a new European land management paradigm, providing an integrated conceptual and operational platform which allows policy makers to develop pro-active and context-sensitive solutions to the challenges for the future, rather than to react on largely autonomous external land systems developments. VOLANTE is an EU FP7 project.
The VOLANTE main objective was to provide European policy and land management with innovative visions for future sustainable resource management and land use policy development under a range of environmental and management conditions across Europe.
The “VOLANTE Roadmap – The Scientific Basis” gives the rationale for a roadmap to a future Europe that manages its land resources better to achieve several societal and environmental goals.
